WBCSD’s Brendan Edgerton on metrics for the circular economy
The world is currently nine percent circular – not great, but a baseline goal that companies should aim toward. To help businesses understand their positions on the circularity spectrum, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is designing a framework to measure circular economy. A testing version is coming soon for public comments and the finalized framework will be available by year end. Brendan Edgerton, the organization’s director of circular economy, said the end product will provide insight on risks and opportunities for companies, give them actionable guides for immediate improvements and long-term collaborations.
